Held last October 6, 2018 at the Enrique Virata Hall or UP ISSI Building. “Kwentahan Tayo: Pinadaling Accounting Para Sa’yong Negosyo,” is a free half-day workshop on basic accounting theory, bookkeeping, and internal control addresses for non-accountants, including start-ups or small business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs. Organized by the UP Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) in partnership with the UP Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI).
A rundown of the seminar is listed below, for full course details there are short programs given like that of Accounting for Non-Accountants. This type pf business course combines sub-topics with: Introduction to Accounting, Accounting Cycle, Business Taxation, Spreadsheet accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, Cash Flow, Case studies and workshops, and Preparation and presentation of Case output. Recap of UP ISSI’ Tara Na, Negosyo Na Workshop
August 3, 2018 – UP ISSI. For budding entrepreneurs and those with existing small or medium scale businesses, the Tara Na, Nogosyo Na whole day seminar is a pathway to level up their entrepreneurial competencies. Moreover, the course digs in through your business interest and passion as a market-maker. Initially there is a self-rating assessment to evaluate yourself based on your Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PECs). Its objective is to identify if an individual has the “IT” factor to be an entrepreneur. TnNn also lays the possibilities of creating business ideas in connection with possible like-minded people. Participant will have a hands-on planning and managing a business enterprise as the workshop progresses. This includes a session on Project Identification using the Community-Based Enterprise Development (C-BED) methodology. The concluding part of the workshop is an open discussion with the participants, guest speakers and reactors.

Data Analysis, Interpretation, and Presentation: A Rundown of Data Analytics for SME Managers Workshop
A two-day training last June 26-27, 2018 was held at the UP-ISSI exclusively for staff and program managers. Data Analytics Training for UP Institute for Small-Scale Industries was conducted by Dr. Ed Canela, a precursor to UP ISSI program course for Data Analytics for SME Managers Workshop.
The workshop was presented by means of handouts depository (digital handouts and datasets.) Several analytical tools were introduced and established its usability. Most of these tools generate data collection, large data surveys, statistics, econometric tool for download and data storage.
Data analytics is the practice of iterative, methodical exploration of an organization’s data with emphasis on cleaning, integrating, analysis, visualization, and storytelling. It is a pre-requisite to data-driven organizations. Data analytics is often utilized to improve performance. (more…)
