Proactiv Solution Combination Therapy
The Real Cause of Acne, Preventions and Suggested Cures
This is a sponsored post.
Common acne begins during adolescence and continues until adulthood especially to skin types vulnerable to severe cases of acne problems. In a tropical country like ours – Philippines, proper product labeling is a must for those seeking over-the -counter treatment. Consumers (easily) tend to believe marketing geniuses’ “it could treat acne in just one sitting” which to some is close to failure. Why? In recent consumer research, “there is a growing concern regarding a number of recent therapies.“
How acne forms and what triggers acne
Acne is define as:
The term acne comes from a mutation of the Greek ἀκμή (akmē), literally “point, edge”, but in the sense of a “skin eruption” in the writings of Aëtius Amidenus. Used by itself, the term “acne” refers to the presence of pustules and papules. The most common form of acne is known as acne vulgaris, meaning “common acne”. Many teenagers get this type of acne. Use of the term “acne vulgaris” implies the presence of comedones. (Source: Wikipedia)
Over accumulation of naturally occurring oil, cells inside the skin follicle and bacteria that lives on the skin begins to grow and multiply in this site, triggering an inflammatory response that causes the development of acne. Acne appears on the face, shoulders, back, chest and trunk. Personally I even experienced mild case of pimple over my scalp when I used heavily moisturized hair shampoo.
An acne blemish begins approximately 2-3 weeks before it appears on your skin’s surface. So while it may seem like you get a pimple overnight, what you’re actually seeing is the final stage of a much longer process. It starts in your sebaceous hair follicles – the tiny holes you know as pores. Deep within each follicle, your sebaceous glands are working to produce sebum, the oil that keeps your skin moist and pliable. As your skin renews itself, the old cells die, mix with your skin’s natural oils, and are sloughed off. Under normal circumstances, these cells are shed gradually, making room for fresh new skin. Dead skin cells may block the pores, resulting to over-accumulation of oil underneath. Bacteria that live on the skin naturally begin to grow and multiply in this site, triggering an inflammatory response causing a red, angry pore that we see as pimple already at the tail-end of the acne formation process.
What triggers my own dose of common acne?
One should simply understand what your skin type is and its needs, geo location (weather condition), kind of lifestyle and nutrition you maintains.
From my point of view, the way I understand how my skin behaves revolves around what product I apply and is connected to my sleeping habits. To some people with unique skin types, the reaction differ from one another and mostly will depend on how you take care of your body and total wellness.
As I said before, I gauged mine on the oily type, absolutely 100% sure. Meaning I can’t use facial wash or body wash or shampoo with oil-base (moisturizer) content. Even skin care products with excessive fragrances and make-ups (liquid foundations, BB creams, press powder, etc). Overall, those that includes super moisturizer ingredients will result to skin pores’ follicle underneath to swell. The build up of excessive oils and dead cells gradually allows the bacteria to grow within 2 to 3 days (on my case). This result as an infection. These infection usually present itself as a blackhead, whitehead, a small spot pimple visible to others, large pus-filled nodules, and even fluid-filled cysts embedded deeply in the skin. The most common infection I experienced every time I used such products is a common pimple that inhibits itself into pus-filled nodules. The market place of supposed beauty and health should subject to “truth in advertising” principle. It should educate the consumers on first-hand information before the product trial and purchase of trust. Not even those expensive and classy brands – Philippine weather will surely spit out the dreaded acnes! 🙂
Although doctors and dermatologists have extensive treatment for serious acne, the only negative factor about it is you have to spend more to be able to solve your skin problem. While Do-it-yourself treatment is also available by applying pore cleanser (benzoyl peroxide) or topical antibiotic to kill the bacteria.
As for me, I only buy non-comedogenic skin care, such as Cetaphil and the like does wonder. For acne-prone skin if these few tips won’t work, I highly recommend an alternative and extensive treatment like Proactiv Solution’s Combination Therapy.
Proactive Solution prevents acne at the root cause and destroys the acne cycle, it’s a step-by-step process, one should try the method diligently to see full results.
Step 1: Proactiv Renewing Cleanser – kills the bacteria and prevent proliferation
Step 2: Proactiv Revitalizing Toner – works by removing dead skin cells, ensuring that the pores don’t get clogged. It removes excess oils too, eliminating food for bacteria.
Step 3: Proactiv Repairing Treatment – kills the bacteria and prevent proliferation
With FREE Refining Mask helps reduce the inflammation and swelling.
I’m also sharing some facts on why Proactiv Solution’s Combination Therapy is better than other treatment methods.
Different types of acne treatments are reactive, spot-treating pimples when these are visible and inflamed – already at the tail end of the acne formation process. These procedure often leave scars, dark pigmentation and permanent marks, and does nothing to prevent future breakouts. It has to address the problem and offer a solution, I think Proactiv Solution follows a rule of thumb “you get your money back if you’re not happy” in a way it’s a guarantee that this anti-acne product has been proven effective by consumers worldwide.
Proactiv Solution Vs. Overnight Spot Treatments
Spot treatment is the most commonly used method of treating acne because these are cheap, easy to apply, and more often than not promising miracle cure overnight. These products mostly contain high concentration benzoyl peroxide at 5% or 10% which kill the acne bacteria, but results to redness or irritation. These products may also cause hyper pigmentation (dark acne marks).
Proactiv Solution contains only 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, a safe and effective concentration which makes it OK for daily use and may be applied to the whole face. With Proactiv’s Advanced Microcrystal technology, eradicating bacteria is faster and gentler than common spot treatments.
Proactiv Solution Vs. Topical Antibiotics
Doctors need to supervise people using antibiotics because the long term use of antibiotics in general may cause bacterial resistance – making the person “immune” to the benefits of the active ingredient.
Proactiv Solution will never have bacterial resistance because it does not contain an antibiotic, but rather an anti-microbial agent. It is safe for long term use for the treatment and prevention of acne.
Proactiv Solution vs. Oral Drugs
When acne is severe, dermatologists sometimes prescribe oral drugs like isotretinoin or hormonal pills. There are studies that support that these methods are extremely effective for severe cases, but because of the nature of these drugs there are side effects that make it questionable if the benefits truly outweigh the cost. For example, there were reports in 2010 linking suicidal tendencies and psychotic behaviors among acne patients on isotretinoin. Hormonal pills, which are mainly indicated as a contraceptive sometimes causes water retention, weight gain, mood swings, and in the long run, even breast cancer.
Proactiv Solution does not have these side effects!
Proactiv Solution Vs. Derm Clinic Injections
The Philippine Dermatological Society is campaigning for awareness among Filipinos to patronize only the services of highly qualified doctors, and not to be too trusting of attendants who may not have the proper training and experience to do this. This type of procedure is extremely painful, and when done by inexperienced hands, may cause scars for life. And because acne is a cyclical condition, recurring acne imposes recurring painful injections.
Proactiv Solution is gentle on you. With advanced micronized benzoyl peroxide and ingredients designed by Doctors Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields, your journey to clear skin is one that does not incite pain.
Proactiv Solution Vs. Custom Derm Packs
The promise of acne’s miracle cure comes in different shapes, sizes, and prices. But do not always think that designer packs that costs Php 10,000 in expensive clinics are great! Expensive acne systems often do not have the backing of massive consumer trial from all over the world, and you end up being a guinea pig.
Are you convinced?
For acne-prone individual, if everything else fails there’s always a better alternative. Say you’ve tried two or three acne treatments mentioned above, and the acne culprit stays the same level of annoyance. It’s about time you try Proactiv Solution, honestly I find the Proactiv Solution’s Combination Therapy quiet edgy on the pocket but if you were able to afford dermatologists and stuck up with dosages of benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics and injections. Well, could it be investing to Proactiv Solution for once will cure the root cause of your acne horrors.
