From this event, we were able to bring our 8 year old child ( a first time experience for her) to have a first-hand look and feel about the gun show. It somehow negates her belief that guns (as frequently shown in tri-media) correlates with killings and crimes. That moment was the exact right time we were able to induced explanation about the responsible ownership of a gun , as a tool for self-defense and as a hobby/sports enjoyed even by kids. We let her held a gun (the first was a Beretta Nano Pink) yes a pink one to attract her attention and taught her proper gun handling, do’s and don’t when carrying a gun, its best purpose, about the licensing/permit, models, calibers, weights, price range (from the most expensive to the least affordable), country where it was fabricated, types of ammunition and best of all to have a normal mind set.
